Meeting This Week

Hello again PDS!

We're having our third meeting of the quarter this week on Thursday, November 8th in Social Science 2 Room 363 at 6:00PM-7:00PM! In this meeting we will start introducing interview questions, start doing practice DAT questions, and break into mentoring groups for any questions you may have. We'll also be taking our group picture at this meeting so wear your T-shirts if you have them! We will continue collecting member dues which are $25.00/ year or $10.00/quarter. With your member dues you'll receive a t-shirt and a binder with information you'll need to make you a more competitive applicant.

CPR training has been scheduled for Saturday, December 1st at 10:00AM-1:00PM at the UCSC Fire Department. This is first come first serve so space is limited so email us ASAP if you are interested. There is a $15.00 fee and we will be collecting that at the meeting. If you want to find out more check out this website: http://fire.ucsc.edu/public-education/cpr/group.html

For those of you who are looking for volunteering opportunities, we have some prospective events in line. These events include the following:
  • November Beach Cleanup
  • PDS Tabling in the Quarry where we'll be promoting oral health
  • Community Aid and Resources Project (CARe): Free health clinic in Santa Cruz
The dates of these events will be announced as soon as we know!

UCSF Dental Information Day is happening this year in Long Beach, California. This will be occuring on April 20, 2013 from 9:00AM-3:30PM. This event is for prospective students and their families to learn more about the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry and its curriculum. Lunch with the dean and current students will be provided and there will be some hands on demonstrations. Registration opens in mid-March, but plan accordingly! For more information visit: http://www.dental.pacific.edu/News_and_Events/Events_Calendar/Pacific_Pride_Day_2013.html

Also for anyone who is interested, you are all welcome to join us at the board meetings that happen every Sunday at 5:00PM at the Jack Baskin Engineering Lounge. This is a good opportunity for anyone who is interested in being on the board in the future to see how it is and help us plan events.
