Bonfire & Next Meeting

Hello fellow pre-dents!

Thanks everyone for showing up for the first meeting! It was a success! We hope you all had fun and got to get to know us better! Also, thank you everyone who showed up at Woodstocks on Friday sorry for the last minute change! We hope you all had a great time. Check out some pictures here.

We'd also like to give a special thanks to Sarah Steer, a UCSC alumni, and now Admissions Assistant at the UCSF School of Dentistry for taking time out of her schedule to give us a talk about UCSF Admissions today. It was very helpful!

The next meeting will be held next week on Monday, October 22, 2012 from 7:00-8:00 PM in the Muwekma Ohlone Conference Room which is located on the 3rd floor of the Bay Tree Building in quarry plaza. We will be giving a "mini advising" presentation on classes as well as mentoring groups to talk more in depth about individual class scheduling questions, as well as coming up with volunteering ideas. So please come with any questions or ideas for volunteering events you would like to see this year! We'll also start collecting member dues at the meeting so bring $25.00/ year or $10.00/quarter. With your member dues you'll receive a t-shirt and a binder with information you'll need to make you a more competitive applicant.

As you know, the bonfire was canceled last week due to the weather, but don't you fret, we've reschedule it for this Friday, October 16, 2012 at Seabright Beach. It will be held from 5:00-8:00 PM (notice the time change from the previous event) and rides will be provided for those who need it - just give us a heads up at the Facebook Event page or give us an email. We will be having hotdogs, s'mores, and fun, fun, fun so come join us!

Also for anyone who missed the meeting, we're planning on taking CPR training as a club, so if you're interested give us an email! We'll probably be doing it on a weekend so that more people can go. If you want more information check out the UCSC Fire Department's website. This will be taking place at the UCSC fire department at a date to be announced later!
